How to read the table

Your Besoldungsgruppe and stage are on your pay statement (Bezügemitteilung). Find your group in the left column and your stage in the header row. Not every group has values in every stage; a blank cell means the table does not provide that combination, not an amount of €0.

Legal status

The table applies from 1 February 2025. It implements the Act adjusting civil-service pay and pensions for 2023, 2024 and 2025, passed on 18 September 2024 and published in the official gazette of 10 October 2024. The linear increase is 3.65%.

A further Senate draft of 4 August 2026, with an additional 2.5% from 1 April 2026, is not the law shown here.

Example: C3, stage 8

For C3 in stage 8, monthly basic pay from 1st February 2025 is 6,430.66 € at full-time. At 50 % working time that gives 3,215.33 €. Other pay components and taxes are not included in this example.

Who the table applies to

The table shows monthly full-time basic pay for the groups it lists. Which office belongs to which group is decided by the competent office and shown on the pay statement. Tariff employees are paid under their collective agreement, not under this table.

What the table contains

The amounts are monthly full-time basic pay, gross. Family allowance, office, function and other allowances, taxes and contributions are not included.

Part-time

For part-time work the amount is calculated in proportion to the working-time share. For C3, stage 8 that gives 5,144.53 € at 80 %, 4,823.00 € at 75 % and 3,215.33 € at 50 %. The calculator reduces this table amount only and does not adjust supplements or allowances automatically.

Other pay components

A pay statement contains more than basic pay. Family allowance, office and function allowances and other individual components are not in the table. Neither are deductions such as income tax and health and care insurance contributions. For this table the site shows gross basic pay and does not calculate a net figure.

Stage progression

The next stage depends on the periods of experience that apply to this office, including recognised earlier periods. This page does not calculate that step. You choose the stage shown on your pay statement. The stage waiting times of the TVöD or TV-L do not apply here.

Annual amount

This page shows monthly amounts, valid from 1st February 2025. Twelve times one monthly amount carries that rate across twelve months. Once the table changes during the year, that product is not the sum of the twelve actual months.

Status of this version

Frequently asked questions

Does the table apply to tariff employees?

No. Tariff employees are paid under a collective agreement such as the TVöD, the TV-L or the TV-H. This table is a Besoldung table for the office assigned to it.

Why is a cell blank?

The table does not provide that combination of group and stage. A blank cell does not mean the amount is €0.

Is the family allowance included?

No. The family allowance sits outside basic pay and is not part of the table values.

Are the amounts gross or net?

They are gross amounts before taxes and contributions. No net figure is calculated for this table.

How do I calculate part-time pay?

Select a table value and enter your working-time share. The amount is then calculated proportionally. Supplements and allowances are not adjusted automatically.

Why is the monthly amount times 12 not always the annual amount?

Because the table can change during the year. Multiplying by twelve carries the month shown here across a full year. That is a projection.
